This is the highest level of recognition a WIFS member may receive from her peers. The WOY award is focused upon recognizing current, ongoing involvement in WIFS and making a difference in the industry.

Qualifications:
1. Leadership within the industry; service to WIFS and other industry organizations on National, State and local levels. Examples: committee involvement, attendance at national conferences or industry meetings and actively recruit corporate and individual members.

2. Has made a significant contribution to supporting, encouraging and advancing other women in the insurance & financial services industry. Examples: be involved in a new or existing initiative within their company demonstrating the above criteria, helping develop a study group. Be instrumental in growing the WIFS Chapter.

All candidates must be a current member in good standing of WIFS and continuous memberships for a minimum of three years.

Our distinguished speaker for August is Ms. Marjorie Singley-Hall, and she will be presenting her seminar entitled “The Advisory Board,” which gives guidance and direction concerning the formation of Advisory Boards for companies and organizations. Ms. Singley-Hall is Managing Partner of Above Board Advisors, LLC, a company that creates Advisory Boards for companies on a national and international level. She is also CEO and Managing Partner of Ampersand Associates, Inc., a business consulting firm. She serves on the Advisory Board of GROWE, Inc., Launch Funding Network, Inc. and O2 Secure Wireless, Inc.
Prior to her corporate consulting and executive search career, Marjorie was heavily involved in the insurance industry as owner of an insurance training school and a licensed insurance agent. She was awarded the Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation. She also lived and worked in London in the insurance and investment industries.

Marjorie is an active member of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and she is the Atlanta Liaison for the Women’s Leadership Exchange, as well as a member of the Atlanta Advisory Board for WLE. She is Founder of the Atlanta chapter of Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE), a national organization supporting women in all areas of industry within the venture and equity business community. She is on the board of the Human Resources Society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and is a former board member of TAG. She is an active member of the Board of Directors Network (BDN).
Marjorie is also active in the Atlanta non-profit community. She serves on the Children’s Community Board of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Auxiliary of Shepherd Spinal Center and the Advisory Board of the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Marjorie is Past Chair and a current Advisory Board member of the Atlanta Women's Alliance, Inc. She also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Women’s Leadership Forum.
In January of 2007, Marjorie was named as one of the Ten Women of Distinction for the State of Georgia by the Chick-fil-A Bowl and the Russell Athletic Shootout.

The registration fee for members and first-time guests is $28. For repeat guests, it’s $40. WIFS-Atlanta requests that members and guests pre-pay for the meeting with a credit card by clicking here.

If you must pay on-site, we do ask that you send your RSVP to us via e-mail at emf@lagniappeassociates.com. And please note that we are only able to accept cash or checks on-site.

Please RSVP by Friday, August 7. After this date, registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis as room permits. Also, “no shows” who do not cancel before Friday, August 7 will still be charged for the meeting.
