About the event

WIFS Atlanta EXPLO is an annual event that brings together women in the insurance and financial services for a half-day of learning, meeting other women in the industry, networking and meeting with small vendors and sponsors.   

You will also earn 2 hours of Ethics CE credit.  We are excited about our topic and our three presenters.

Beware What You Put in Writing:  Emails and Text Messages Can and Will be Used Against You in Litigation

  • Emails and text messages are becoming one of the main pieces of evidence used in litigation against companies. Managers should be cautious about what type of information is reduced to writing and how employees typically communicate, internally and with company lawyers. When it may apply, certain steps should be taken to ensure that information is protected by the attorney/client privilege. About our Speakers

Brandi Thompson - Brandi is an associate in Carr Allison's Dothan, AL office and also practices in Georgia.  She focuses her practice on defending matters involving premises liability, transportation, retail and hospitality, and general litigation.  Read Brandi's full bio here.

Kristin Andree - After a successful year as a managing director in the financial services industry, Kristin launched The Andree Group - a coaching and consulting firm focused on implementing creative business strategies to help firms and their advisors Step Up, Stand Out, and Scale their business while living their lives to the fullest.  

Sara Lue currently serves as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the  GBI Georgia Cyber Crime Center in Augusta, GA. She is responsible for supervision of special agents and digital forensic investigators assigned to the office and their mission is to assist local and state law enforcement agencies with complex investigations involving cyber-related criminal activity. This includes but is not limited to online fraud, computer and network intrusion, and the proliferation of digital media as they relate to criminal activity and organized crime.
